«The Clash» — what is a Clash?
The Iris Foto Clash explained: two or more irises united in one singular artwork.

Iris Foto "Clash" — what is it and why is it called that?
Showcasing your iris images as a "Clash"
Our Iris Foto Clash is extremely popular. But what is it — and what's actually behind it?

Iris Foto Clash for 2 people
Every Iris Foto Clash is different. Simply because every iris is absolutely unique.
Every Iris Foto Clash is different. For the simple reason that every iris is absolutely individual.
No — it's not a filter. Every splinter fragment is an actual piece of one iris or the other.
The iris looks like a small world
That's exactly what I saw in the first blue iris I photographed — my son's. A little world. A planet … hmmm …
Wait a minute: when two planets meet and merge into one, that's called a supernova. But before fusion happens, there's a kind of explosion — a lot of pieces flying around.
Since the word «explosion» sounds a bit too full-on, even a bit scary, I decided to call this option «Clash» instead. According to the Oxford Languages dictionary, the word «Clash» simply means a collision.
Clash /klæʃ/ noun
I loved the idea of «you and me becoming we» and wanted to capture that visually. By the way, you'll find all the variants in our price list.
Is the Clash "only" for 2 people?
Since many single clients came into my studio at the beginning, the Clash for individuals was born too. The lighter particles come from the brightest spot of the iris, the darker ones from the darkest spot.
